Julie Jones, CPA

Julie is a Raffa accounting services partner with more than 17 years of public accounting and nonprofit experience. At Raffa, Julie is responsible for supervising clients’ monthly, quarterly and/or annual compilations as well as overseeing clients’ accounting departments. Julie advises clients on the development and implementation of budgeting concepts, and works to ensure an efficient year-end audit process.  Julie provides a variety of consulting and business advisory services to our clients including assessment of business processes for effectiveness and efficiency, review of internal control structure, review of budgeting processes and recommendations on budgeting tools and templates.

Prior to joining Raffa, Julie worked with a prominent foundation as a planning budget control and accounting manager where she served as the project manager for process re-engineering of foundation grants, foundation contributions and corporate giving contributions. Prior to her foundation experience, Julie was an audit manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers where she refined her expertise in performing financial statement audits for nonprofit organizations. She has also taught accounting courses and courses on performing audits under the requirements of the Government Auditing Standards and OMB Circular A-133.

Julie has a bachelor’s of science degree in accounting from Virginia Tech and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs. She is also the audit committee chair and serves on the board of directors of the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Greater Washington, D.C. ​​​​

Tom is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Raffa, which he established specifically to service the needs of the nonprofit community.
