Kimberly Robertson, CPA

Kim has been an owner-partner at Raffa since 1997 and oversees the audit department, including recruiting, training and practice development. In addition, Kim is an instructor of nonprofit accounting, auditing and procedures required under OMB Circular A-133.

Having served the nonprofit industry exclusively for 25 years, Kim has guided hundreds of organizations in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures, has managed the development of cost allocation plans, has developed indirect cost rate proposals and submissions and performed internal control reviews. She has performed organizational assessments, facilitated strategic planning sessions and has assisted clients in cost-benefit analyses.

In addition to audit, tax and consulting engagements, Kim has been a seminar presenter for the AICPA, the Center for Nonprofit Advancement, the American Society of Association Executives’ (ASAE) Financial Management Symposium, the nonprofit symposium sponsored by the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants and conferences sponsored by the National Grants Management Association and Opportunities Industrialization Centers International. Kim has also written articles for ASAE’s Association Law & Policy and Dollars & Cents pertaining to the nonprofit industry.

Kim is a certified public accountant licensed to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia. She is a member of the AICPA, the Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants (GWSCPA), ASAE and the National Association of Black Accountants. She is a member of ASAE’s Finance and Administration Section and GWSCPA’s Not-for-Profit Committee. Kim is a graduate of the University of Maryland and is the Chair Elect and member of the Finance, Strategic Planning, Compensation and Performance Improvement Committees for Fort Washington Medical Center and the Carolyn Boone Lewis Health Care Center. Kim is also the Vice Chair of the Maryland State Lottery. ​​​​

Tom is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Raffa, which he established specifically to service the needs of the nonprofit community.
