Our Website is 100% 508 Compliant!
Section 508 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act mandates that all electronic and information technology systems, including websites, which are developed, procured, maintained or used by the federal government, must be accessible to people with disabilities.
At Raffa, we think all websites and electronic communications should be accessible to everyone, so we made it a goal that our site would be 100% 508 compliant.
We worked with the team at Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind
to ensure we met their benchmarks. We kept 508 in mind when we built our current website and were pleased to start out with an 80% compliant rate. CLB’s team pointed out our site’s shortcomings and we were able to hit 100% within a couple of weeks.
As CLB notes on their website
, “It is essential that all users, with or without disabilities, have the ability to access the same information, including images and media files, and to perform common tasks, such as buying merchandise or filling out registration forms.”
We couldn’t agree more! If your organization or company wants to review the current accessibility of your website and make improvements to also reach full compliance, we can help
